as Mum said in her comment on my last blog, 'We think we've found paradise here too, so I think God might be tricking us'...I think she's right. just when I thought there was nothing more beautiful than cute little salzburg or the little venetian streets and the secret garden he shows me thailand. i don't want to compare, each is beautiful in it's own special way, but to me, a goldie girl (not born, but bred) well yes, this is beautiful.
people talk about all of these wonderful places and sometimes when you actually go there it's...well it's like reality depression. the eiffel tower is not your own personal space but a machine for millions of guests and 1.5 hour queues, the statue of liberty stands in a country where the term 'liberty' has an incredibly obtuse definition, and the big ben has become well, a clock. but the pictures of thailand are no lie.
i feel like i'm in some very surreal experience, one of those things you look back on in the future and are not quite sure if it happened...perhaps it is because this is the most different country from Australia that it has finally hit me how wonderfully and perfectly different God has made the world.
people scoot around on normal motorbikes carrying up to four people, the markings on the road are simply a rough guide, cute little thai children stand outside shantys where their elder brothers wash in an outdoor trough, the beaches are the most magnificent crystal blue and the water is completely undaunting, but rather inviting (i'm afraid of the ocean sometimes! but this is soooo shallow and clear, there's just nothing to be afraid of).
anyway, i can't write too much for now.
it was so so so so soooooooooooooooo very nice to finally see mum and dad again :) we ran to them so fast we ran straight past luggage collection and then had to go back...it's just so nice to have parents again, that's all i can say. i love them.
well, not long now until i get back :) (jordy, brooke, know you're counting the days) - i have waxed legs (a first for ellie! i just laughed and laughed and laughed...hey, five fingers, five different kinds of people...or something like that) she missed a few spots, but hey, $12 ain't bad.
i have to go...uploading photos for you visual learners...check the end of europe -thailand...or whatever the final adventure is called!!! :D love you all...home soon.

Hey Ellie! Thanks for posting photos on bugbitten....i was really looking forward to see some Turkey photos and ofcourse Thailand too. So glad to see all the lamberts having a very good quality time together. Something you guys have missed (or delibrately pushed away) for a long time. You all deserve it.....Have a great time!!!!
